Music
The Deep Hatchel Productions.
That's the whole city films.
I'm happy for you.
I'm happy for you.
I'm happy for you.
I'm out.
I put a fresh set in for screen bluepete.
So, nice.
That's a good one.
We got the one.
There you go.
Fantasy.
Fantasy.
Alright, so that means we're going to do Lord of the Fries.
Project this weekend?
It's just a slammer. It's just a strong resemblance.
He's got Ian impersonated right here, boss.
A cell phone.
A practice cell phone.
Where are we going?
The line-up dialogue is where?
I gave it to Zwayne.
I'm kind of like into the coming-of-age story thing.
He's a strange man in the neighborhood.
And the fact that he came out on the street to break up the fight
was weird enough that it is, and it's even more disturbing
that he's invited the kid into his house to take care of him.
So the kid, our interview is kind of scared and awestruck.
We don't know this guy. He's a mystery to us.
So there's a development of relationship.
The old man loosens up, he shares a bit with the kid.
The kid doesn't know he's got a friend fighting in the neighborhood.
This is old yet, the one that everyone's afraid of.
It's whether it's his hero's story that he, you know,
is the one that rescues the person who, you know...
Almost morphed into.
So does he have to be a reporter?
Or can you notice some guy who's watching the news,
you know, he's making this pathetic sandwich at home
in this horrible kitchen.
And he turns around and looks at the news, the story,
and then there's some interesting visual effect we do
that pulls it into it.
Then all of a sudden he's on the boat saving somebody.
It's not a fantasy enough leap.
Any idea? I don't have a story.
I just have imagined shots in my mind.
The impact of using the car.
Talk to us more about those shots.
Yeah, what are we envisioning? Maybe it could be a modern date.
It's not a...
He's not wearing a sleet.
Don't look like a sleet.
This guy helps us, Joe.
There's visually impactful stuff,
because that's where I'm coming from.
He wants a new car.
And he's asking the genie for a new car.
But which one does he want? Does he want the zebra?
Does he want the jack? Does he want the haran?
He's in each one of them.
And that one also comes with a bait.
He goes away. Deal with me.
So the genies themselves are competitive.
And it turns out that the first one he was dealing with
was a nincompoop.
Nincompoop, genie.
They're all training.
They suck it.
Like doing all these wishes, they're training.
They're all special effects.
Turn that train into a song.
Where's my training montage? I love training.
I'm all for comical and having fun.
And I think it's cool that we've got a lot of genies.
We've got King Genie.
Jacob Russo is very funny.
Very funny.
We've got...
We've got to use all these balls.
Nick Wigg.
And also the new guy.
So instead of him coming across the genie
by accident passively,
he's pursuing it.
I think it's more funny if he's actually
proactively looking for a genie.
So that...
We've got all these balls.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
We've got it.
I'm not sure what the size is different now, but it's kind of awesome actually.
Is that made of awesome?
Um, and the size is pretty awesome as well.
That's true.
You look really good in the fez, I thought.
I think so.
I look amazing in just about everything.
The shorts are awesome, these are period, actually, from the 1800s.
Oh, got brain gel.
Where am I?
Who are you?
What do you want me to wear for the first time?
I think at the very beginning, you guys are all going to be mean and kind of scary looking,
but when you're here, it's not like, hey, Derek, you know, you're kind of excited to
participate in this.
Okay.
We're doing this one, we're doing this one, we're doing this one, we're doing this again.
Same, two wide, take two.
Maybe like that.
We'll cover it with that.
That thing is done by the end of the day.
Okay, so then he goes up, so then we just cut, exactly, just cut, and then he's, maybe
we can do one of these through here, or, you want to hit his shoulders on this one, George?
He just comes into the shot, or right there?
Yeah.
Okay.
He's just getting ready to put it on, but I think with Val, you get a much better idea.
That is behind the scenes.
Right.
It'll be fun.
Yeah.
I don't know how to do that.
Yeah.
You guys, you know what?
I come here at 7.30.
You guys are running behind.
Shit.
The matte covers.
Looking good, huh?
Looking good.
That and that.
Holy crap.
Because they really, you know, you think, oh my God, I can, I put the self-portation in.
I thought, there's no shot in hell.
I'm stuck up in the props cab.
And this is a gift, you know, you're like, holy cow.
So you want to be like, kind of like slight mouth covering or like a full body reaction
or whatever it is.
It's big.
So it's like, so that's it, George?
Yes.
So we'll see you.
Be on standby.
So will you guys call me?
Good morning.
Gary Greenberg reporting from wherever.
You're going to be, you're going to shave your head?
For the cause.
And one time I was a little bit dirty and I got in one other guy.
Because the script calls for the newscaster to morph into the genie.
And we'll morph in.
And later on, when you have to stop it, you can animate doing other things over here.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh my God, are you serious?
Right there.
I'm a natural.
I'm a natural.
Are you kidding me?
There's a car.
I made a car with magic.
With the magic.
Oh man.
Oh.
They're careful.
Again, he stands up.
So now that it's not, it goes in the car?
I'm guessing?
I don't know.
But just be careful because it's backed up.
All right.
The dramatic people are looking at us.
Because we can't move to you.
So are you?
Hello?
As we talk throughout the evening, premises.
There is a young man who's very disgruntled with his job, with his lifestyle.
And he has put in an application to become a genie.
And a couple of years ago, we did a film.
We got best of best.
And last year I joined Joe Costano's team, Hunter Productions.
And we got best of best.
And we're working together again.
So we're having some fun.
I just didn't want this to show because I lost contact.
He's got that line.
You step out on your three lines.
So I should be asking, who are they to?
Get them to understand.
Figure it out.
And then it's like, oh, okay.
They took their car.
And then we're on the street.
And then we hold it.
So is that in your holding gear or out?
You can hold.
They just found me on the street.
Welcome.
They said they were buying me breakfast.
We're having steak tonight.
I don't know.
More often than not.
They said they were buying me breakfast.
They said they were buying me breakfast.
We're having a great one-man show.
So I don't need an exorcist.
And your worst nightmare.
I am your mama.
I am your daddy.
I am your genie in a bottle.
Literally.
the wrong way.
Point!
So Genie in the bottle, and then I wrap over like this.
OK, let's go ahead and get this going then.
OK, I'm rolling.
Sam?
3-A, take four.
OK, Walter, reach it up.
You move over here.
But I just want to see that there.
Going on Jeff's face?
No, no, no.
Here, don't be there if you're coming from here.
What?
I'm rolling.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Got three seeds.
Take one.
OK.
Push ups.
Do I stay on him for a little bit?
That's kind of funny.
Pass.
Action.
One, two, three, four, five.
No!
Push ups!
No!
Cut.
All right, so here's your end of focus.
You got to go in there.
And I ain't moving up too early.
Yeah, I think it's here.
Eric had that sense.
He's like, what?
Don't hurt your head.
It's like, what are you doing with this?
Oh, come on.
Yeah.
Four arms.
Four arms.
It's all worth it.
No fun.
They've got a new one.
It's like a tic-tac.
Nice.
I'm just not hung.
Yeah, that's it.
Is it something you have to wrangle?
What are those buttons for?
Yeah.
I'd like you to roll off.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're getting a big shot.
I'm seeing the shot.
Take a deep.
Aren't you just the sweetest person in the building?
The loving of this.
There you go.
It's only going to last a second.
Don't twirl.
Try the three.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Two.
Two.
One.
Two.
We're going to take a walk around the city and see what it's like to walk around the city.
We're going to take a walk around the city and see what it's like to walk around the city.
Hi Joe, concluding thoughts?
Yeah, the thoughts we're going to let you know we're here at Randy Joe's at the drop off.
We had a drop off film at 701 which is about 29 minutes before the deadline.
And we just had a blast. I think the film has turned out fantastic. I'm going to throw this up for you.
Thanks for George here.
Good team. Good time.
So what was the moment of the weekend? The big takeaway moment?
Wow, I think that might have been... oh that's a tough one. There are a lot of good ones this time.
One, when he received a text from Derek, one of the actors, saying that he might not want to have his head shaved.
And that is mixed with the moment where he shaved his head.
The other is when we had about five bald, Harley, Davis, Ryan, Genie's dancing.
Very good job guys. Congratulations.
