Hi, I'm Nick. And I'm Martha, and we're excited to introduce you to our project, Fuzz.
So for last Mother's Day, Nick here gave me this vase as a Mother's Day gift. It's a beautiful custom 3D printed sculpture.
My first thought when I received the vases, it was really beautiful. But then, as I started to turn around the vase, I realized there's something more going on here.
There's something amazing going on here. I can see faces in the vase, and not just anyone's faces. I see my children's faces, and I see my face in Nick's face too.
So I asked Nick, how did you do that? Excellent question, Martha. You see, as an architect and computational designer, I like to think in terms of systems.
So rather than designing you one vase and then having to think of another next year, I set out to solve the Mother's Day conundrum once and for all.
So it's pretty cool, right? And everyone we've talked to has been really excited. They want their own vase with their own loved ones' faces on it.
So we started thinking, well, why not? Nick has already written this cool program that takes profile photos and converts it into 3D models.
But what's holding us back is then taking those 3D models and getting them 3D printed is expensive.
So for this Kickstarter campaign, what we'd like to do is raise enough money to buy our own 3D printer.
And once we have the printer, our geocosts are actually pretty low.
So by supporting our Kickstarter campaign, you'll receive your very own customized vase. And I'll have the opportunity to push this project forward to new places, maybe a new kind of design website,
or even a mobile app where users could upload photos and see vase designs in real time.
But what I'm really excited about is to have the chance to experiment with new designs that are still in my sketchbook.
Who knows, maybe I'll get an awesome birthday gift. Thanks for supporting Fawze.
It's your Fawze and a vase. It's your face and a vase!
