Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Always treat people the way that you want to be treated
You want me to read it?
Brighten up someone's day because it brightens up mine
This is this guy, he said I think that this is a good thing
It will brighten up someone's day
At least it did mine
If you can't achieve it, weave it
If you can't grow it, sew it
If you're going through it, glue it
If you hate it, berate it
If you cut it, strut it
If you buy it, dye it
If you stress it, press it
If you can't curl it, twirl it
If you stress it, press it
If you don't know, wear a fro
If you nappy, just be happy
If you can't wear a wrap, wear a cap
If you going bald, go to have a clubbing in for all
If you can't twig it, wig it
If you can't thread it, dread it
It ain't nothing but a hair thing
Everybody can do the same
That was beautiful, that was awesome
My name is Raymond and I'm playing with people on a day to day basis
I don't know much about this place
It encouraged me to want to do something different
You know, I've been on love and everything else for many years
I've had open heart surgery this year
I've had gallbladder surgery this year
And I'm still in the quicksand
I want something different
Then I've got to do something different
That's what I've always been told
I might not be here tomorrow
But then I might be here another 25 years
Only God knows
This is a hell of a life, man
You know, life, you know
I think it's a lot of work
All right, good day
We are all Adam and Eve's sons and daughters
And we all bleed in red
Love your brother and sisters, Alex
I take it you go but
That, you know, life would be much nicer
You know, what is all this fuss about
You know, a Muslim, you're Jewish
The other one is Christian
So let's all chill, you know, each other, you know
I don't understand that
Here, how you doing?
How are you doing?
Why are you calling me?
I don't know
I don't know what they want to be
I don't know if somebody would want to
I don't know
I don't know
I don't know
Let's not give him up
I never knew that there were
There were a bunch of beautiful people
people, we all have a story. Not a bunch of us know how to express our stuff. They weren't
taught to, or her mom and dad talked to them, you know, bad. I mean, someone brought up well,
I was brought up in Beverly Hills. Who knew I was going to be downtown? I mean, who knew
I was going to work at the Union Estimation for eight years? Who knew after seven years
I would be, um, backslip sort of people. You do go to the Union. I'm porous because I don't explain
these to people. It's my story and I'm sensitive to it. I say I'm close to those because I can't
cross into it anymore and nobody's came for it because they want to. I want to go for it without it.
What is homeless? To me, it's the state of mind. With America, the way it's going,
homelessness stands. Homelessness should not be. People are not homeless. They are struggling.
It's a cope. It's everyone you're struggling to cope. You get it?
It ain't got a couple dollars. I'll catch the bus. Any kind of change. Bus talk today is about suffering.
I'm going to argue for nothing. I'm not aware of that.
I'm glad to be out. I stayed here last year, so I'm doing all right.
I'm going to take you down a while ago. It's nice. It's all right. I just say suck or freeze, you know what I'm saying?
They are fine. I said stay strong, God bless.
What about the table?
The police come. Not breaking any law. You got free water. Everybody needs water going to be 100 degrees today.
You got to be moving all day long. You can't sit down, but you're not doing anything wrong. I can hit that corner right there and I'll have 100 people picking in this.
Don't start anything. We got your back. Community.
All right. I was walking this morning down the street picking up my bicycle like I do every day and I walk up and this guy had stuff all over the building.
Beautiful. It looked like a shopping mall. And all of a sudden the lady come from the mission. She said, I yell and holler and stream about the stuff being in front of the building.
But he's almost on the probably sidewalk. I said, look, you know, on that. And she's talking about that's my phone. We put the phones there. The phones were there before she moved into the building.
So they smashed the stuff off the building. Me and my friends, we got all the stuff left to the side. We got all this stuff on this nice stuff.
The police come by here 24-7. I can't say anything because nobody's selling anything. You feel like you need something.
She's coming to pick it up. I bring out some donations since you're doing it like this. Yeah.
We got sandwiches for people. You know what I'm saying? It's a blessing. Beautiful artwork.
This is what I make of pizza fries. What's that made out of? All paper. Wow. I try to have the homeless saying I have stuff I trade for a no-go-dive, business and for me to friend. If you don't have no money, then I give it to them.
I'm trying to buy me a hard dog truck. Trying to start me a recycle company. One hand wash the other hand. So with me, I treat everyone like I want to be treated.
A man is trying to help the whole neighborhood. And this is what he does every single day. With these two puggies right here, he passes out blankets.
But a homeless, if he sees you with no blanket and you're laying down, he'll cover you up. Ah, can you get mad at a person like that? That's what you do. That's what he does.
I've been recycling with my friend Rest in Peace for about 20 years. I like the business and I once got a recycle company. I thought they'd have somebody go at 2, 3 in the morning and say, oh, I need a drink. I need something to eat.
I'm gonna go ahead and take this guy. But I said, oh, the can yard's open. It's open all day, all night. This is something that I can take my stuff off of my basket and earn it instead of going to take it for someone that I don't like them to do.
Before I get dark, all this is done because when a hungry person lays down, can't sleep. So a hungry person gets up in the middle of the night and he wants to do something so he can get him some money to fill his gut.
So he's prowling. He's a dangerous man, a hungry, homeless, no blanket, dangerous man, and he's gonna do whatever it takes to survive.
I didn't know if you wanted a jam. I overheard you say you were going to the mission, but I don't know. I could bust out something if you want, if you want to sing or anything.
I don't know what you're jamming. I don't care. I don't guess I'm ready to do that. Lose.
I'll be here and watch the stuff until he comes back. Well, they gunned my cousin down right there with 22 bullet holes in his back. Killed him right there two weeks ago.
I came out of LA Mission. I went to use a restroom and I said, hold on, I'll be right back. When I came out, they were gunning him down. All I could see is fire. Fire coming out of the gun and he's falling.
He's falling. Then when he fell, they went to the trunk. They went to the trunk of an undercover police car, pulled out a shotgun, and blew his motherfucking head off.
And then it had me held so I couldn't try to hold him or none of that. You know what I'm saying? I have so big animosity.
What you're doing, I have big respect for you because you're doing it and you're brave because a lot of people around here don't like you.
Right folks, what you are doing, they respect you because you're coming to help the community and that's love. That's love right there. All that is love.
I just hope this inspires them to change who they are.
To provide some bubbles from the sea, spread the cold. Good morning. To create beauty in such a place like this, you need that. Early in the morning, when the world is waking up, you guys come like flowers in the sunshine.
You can't tell what nationality you were and I see you needed some help. Here's a blanket.
