Passion drives a lot of things that make you successful.
Your willingness to world, never being afraid to work.
If it takes a 10 hour session, passion drives that.
In order to be successful for a long period of time,
passion is going to fuel that.
I'm Ted Bigshot Tate, and I am a producer.
I produce different genres of music.
I go anywhere from hip-hop to rock to R&B to pop to gospel,
whatever the project dictates.
I produce, but it's always coming from a core of hip-hop.
There's always going to be something in it that makes you move.
Hip-hop always did for me.
My sound as a producer and as an engineer,
I like my music, how I like my music.
I like them with a nice, heavy, round, tight bottom.
It translates to different genres.
It's the best way I can describe it,
because the low end is what you feel in the music.
That's why people keep coming back to me,
because I put the feeling into the music.
You want to do something, jump, dance, whatever.
I also like clarity, so I focus a lot on making sure
the things that are supposed to be heard are heard very clearly.
The low end is what's going to move you when you hear the song.
I focus a lot on that.
The best way I can describe it is a tight, round bottom.
You know what it's like when you see it.
For me, it's like that when you hear it.
Creativity to me is being able to envision something that is not there.
To really pull from yourself spiritually,
to come with an idea that was never done before.
That's creativity.
Longevity in this game really has to be first behind talent.
You have to be talented to be able to even be in the game.
But I think you have to constantly be adaptable
in order to have longevity,
because things change, technology changes,
lights change.
The fan base is constantly changing what they want,
and you have to be able to adapt,
but still find a way to still be you within the adaptation.
If you can do that, then you can definitely last in this game.
The energy that you put into your music
ends up getting translated to your listener.
When a listener and a creator are on the same plane,
that's when the magic happens.
For me, the music I make is a vibe.
If I'm sitting with an artist and we're having a conversation about something to say,
that's the song, that's the energy that's going to come through.
My job is to translate the thought, the idea,
that energy through the music into the end product
so that the listener understands what we had in the studio.
If you ask anybody who's successful in this business,
and in most walks of life,
they would do it for free.
And they have done it for free at some point before they got successful.
You can't really be in it just for money.
Do what you love and the money will come.
I'm Ted Bigshot Tate, and I am a beat artist.
Thanks for watching.
