Is that now a documentation of the work process or is that a control?
It is both.
There are several pages that were originally a control
to find out where a picture might go wrong.
I noticed that in the morning when I came to the studio
that I sometimes thought that the memory had a better picture
and thought that it was a ship
and that's why I painted it.
And then I documented the different conditions of my picture
and while I was working on this picture in the computer
or in the further work of this photo
I noticed that there is also a kind of trick-filming effect
because the pictures will change.
Especially if you have already photographed the condition of the picture
or documented the condition of the picture
and out of that there was a nice effect
namely a kind of trick-filming
which is created as such an additional work during the painting
but I am now a trick-filmer, but painting.
It's not just an ornamental feeling,
but it is structured through small notes
from the history of politics and everyday life.
Why?
The title of the work, the original title
was Heile Welt or Perfect World
and for me this Heile Welt
is actually a bit undergone.
That means to paint the basic idea of flowers
and to meditate a bit about Heile Welt
is the one thing and the other thing
is that you are aware that it is an absurd activity
and that this Heile Welt
which I might have dreamed of as a child
doesn't exist like that and that this world is undergone
by the terms which appear in my paintings
but also by the company logos
which are simply symbols
for the undergone Heile Welt.
Where did you actually find your paintings
and your pictures?
Well, the Heile Welt painting
is in a way a repetition of a painting
which I painted 30 years ago
and back then it was a kind of reaction
to my mother who constantly
asked me to paint something beautiful
if it didn't work
and the conversation took place in her kitchen
and there was a bouquet on the wall
and when my mother almost doubted
to give me an example
on my question
what do you think will be beautiful
this idea came
and that was a kind of ironic comment
also on the action
which I enjoyed with my parents
maybe extremely religious
the belief in the good

also seemed a bit alien

I started the picture many months ago
and since then
we have a new American president
each of my terror attacks in the world
I am older than that
everything flows automatically into this picture
important to me
the set of symbols
and letters
don't stand in front of me
but in the end
colorfully
disappear again in the picture
and integrate
because I don't want people to stand in front of the picture
and look for these things
but exactly the opposite
you should lose
in this Heile Welt
in this seemingly flowery carpet
and then more or less coincidentally
for me it's only after years
to discover something
which may not even be part of it
