Hi, I'm Marty Hardin. I am the writer and director of Devouring Venus. Devouring Venus
is a dramatic comedy and it's also my first feature film. And you know, I came to you
guys back in, I believe, August and asked for your help and you helped me do this. And
now I'm coming back again. We shot the film back in October in Pleasantville, New York
and thanks to you, I was able to bring aboard an amazing cast. I had Kristen Murray, Maggie
Wagner, Haley Beauregard, Daniel Scott Caden, Eric Eastman and those guys were on point
every single day. This film began as a concept back in June and we went from June. We shot
in October and now we have this incredible opportunity to take the film to the common
film market in May and that's less than a year. It's unheard of in the film industry
but it doesn't have to be. What we did is we created a new business model for how to
create films. By and large, the film was improvised. I talked to a lot of actors and you can't
just throw actors into the deep and say, Hey, let's go make a film, make up something.
So what I did is I mapped out a complete story arc so that way the actors knew where
they were going. I peppered it with a few lines just to help them get a sense of what
I was looking for but from point A to point B, they could meander and take the story into
interesting and amazing places and they did. What they were able to do was to bring these
characters to a deeper place. So why am I coming to you? I need money and so I'm back
on Indiegogo. We need $15,000 to get this film to con and what does that money go for?
Well, it goes for editorial, it goes for color correction, it goes for music, it goes for
retouching, it goes for printing, it goes for a lot of things that we need to do to
get this film ready to go to market. So if you would, take a look at the rewards that
are up and down this page but also look down and look at the trailer. Get a sense of the
film because when you do that, you're going to see. I'm not asking you to help me make
a film. I'm asking you to help me change the way that films are made. Please give what
you can. I appreciate it. Thanks.
Thank you.
Thank you.
