Okay, so what I'm going to do is, you notice that the line on the spoon is going this way.
So I'm going to wrap it around the breakaway can in the same way, right?
Wrap it around once, twice, okay?
That's all you have to do is twice.
Use your index finger, bring the lever up and hold it like that so it holds it in, okay?
Chip your bail and once you have it now, it's passed.
And move it up.
That's it.
Today's reel is the Shimano Otegra 5500 with 40 pound test Jerry Brown braid.
I absolutely love this reel.
It has the line layering system, which means that the line is compacted, highly going back and forth.
So it can hold a lot of line and when you throw your line out, oh man, it just goes so far.
I just absolutely love this system.
This is a CI4, so it's very lightweight.
I'm going all my dunking rigs, which some people would call surf casting rigs or casting rigs.
I'm going all Otegra's right now because the Otegra's are great.
So this is the reel I'm using for today.
Today, I am using my LamiGlass.
It's a 11 foot insane surf.
It's rated for a 17 to 40 pound test line, 2 to 6 ounce throwing weight, fast action.
I really, really love this rod.
It's a good size for short casting and I sometimes use it for plugging it like today.
See how the Shimano Orca floats?
It makes a good surface lure for shallower reef areas.
I like that.
Also get a lot of play on the surface.
Hey guys, I had a lot of questions about the breakaway cannon, how to use it,
how to attach it.
This is a very simple device.
I get these from the UK and Europe.
That's where they were invented.
So what I do is I get my breakaway cannon and what you want to do is you got to use it with a spinner.
It won't work with a conventional.
You work with a spinner and the reason why this device was invented is so when you use braid
and when you're holding the finger, you're using your index finger here to hold the line,
it won't cut into your finger.
Now when you're using lighter braid like 10 pounds and under, don't have to worry about that.
When you start going up to about 20 pounds or more and you're really trying to oof that thing out there,
this is when you're going to need their breakaway cannon.
It increases my castability by roughly 30%.
That's a lot.
So what you do is see the corner of the spool here.
You have to attach this unit upside down.
See on the bottom here.
So what happens is this part here, see the base, the base right here.
The base here lines up even with the lip of the spool.
So it has to be like that.
Now how do you attach it like that?
I always use electrical tape.
You can use tie shafts but the electrical tape holds a lot better.
So what I do is, most importantly is getting the first piece on because you have to have something to base.
Getting everything else on.
So what we do is we're going to get the first piece on.
And we're going to make sure that we see now.
It's windy today.
The tape is flying all over.
I'm going to try to get it on first.
I'm going to show you what I just did.
All right.
I'm going to get the first piece of tape on.
There.
What I did is you can see this.
The lip over here is equal now to the base of the stud.
Now what you're doing is you notice the line is going this way on the reel.
So what you do is you loop the line through here the same way.
You loop it the same way here.
You loop it at least two times here.
You have to follow the way the line is on the spool.
So let me go finish this off.
Let me go attach the second piece of tape.
This is pretty firm already.
I've got two pieces on.
But what I want to do is I want to add just a little bit more.
So what I do is I get another piece.
Hold on here.
What I'm going to do is overlap the other piece by 50%.
So what I'm going to do is I'm going to actually latent.
