What does it mean when two fists touch? All done? Take care? It is a gesture with a
lot of different meanings but one thing is for sure some of the best memories of
our life begin and end with it just like here on top of this unimposing but
beautiful peak above the Rhine Valley.
Mountain bikers rarely get to stand on the summit of mountains. Today we are
going to ride up even two. Our first peak is only at 1,135 meters. The first
500 vertical meters are easy to pedal but for the last part most of us will
find themselves pushing the bike. Right after the summit the trail is pretty
steep. There were huge steps in tight corners that are not that easy to ride.
On we go through the valley and across the river into the long uphill to our
second mountain of the day.
On the map this peak appears to be an unimpressive pinnacle but a spot with a
better view of this is hard to find and as usual the reward is the downhill.
We ride across alpine meadows until the trail finally dives into the woods.
This day is the proof. You don't need big mountains to have a great day on the
bike. It's hard to find words to say what makes this track so great but luckily
we don't have to. We just let our fists do the talking.
