Let me be clear. My friend, Philando Castile, was shot seven times by the
St. Anthony Police Department with a little girl in the backseat of the car.
Jamar Clark was murdered by the Minneapolis Police Department. So if
you want us to stop protesting, sir, stop giving us a reason to protest,
please. Because until then you can charge me with a felony. I don't be in
these streets protesting you and white supremacy, sir. This is not about
race, y'all. Listen, we're doing in the circle right here is not about race.
Together we stand divided. We fall. I need y'all. Listen, I'm a black man
alone. We have black people alone. We need your right power. We need your
white voices. Don't leave us. I love y'all. So the count of three, I want you
to have the person next to you and tell him you love him. Even if you don't
know him. One, two, three.
I lost Philando on the 6th of July. All right. So we're talking about
somebody who served 200 kids a day. Love each and every one of them. Let's
be clear. Philando was murdered. We were not protesting. We were mourning
Philando's death. You know what they were doing? They were asking for all
of you guys to come out and say, what is it that we can do to help you? Now,
one of you came out, please help us. Don't harm us. We are not criminals.
Black people are beautiful people. Our families are amazing. We're standing
here right now because we've been saying that this is wrong. But we've been
saying this for almost 30 years. It's wrong. And this is all that's been
me. I know what I'm seeing. I've been black for a very long time and I've
been watching this happen for a very long time. This is nothing new. This is
nothing new. The KKK used to come and take our grandparents when the police
arrested. They take them down in the forest and hang up. Those same KKK
members from back in the day, they had grandchildren. They grandchildren had
grandchildren and out came Donald Trump. Out came Jeff Sessions. Out came Tony Cronus. Out came Nick Samuels. Out came Bob Paul. The clan is right here in Minnesota.
Y'all got to be damn physical. Y'all think the KKK went to St. Paul Police
Uniform. A Minneapolis Police Uniform. A Egan Police Uniform. A Robinson Police Uniform. The town was where you live. I've been black all my life. I've
been tased. I've been mazed. I've been kicked. I watched my brothers and sisters get the dogs
sicked on them. You mean to tell me the clan ain't in office? Okay. Tell them. I'm trying to fit in the description of somebody that's not who I am. I'm somebody great. Tell them. Yes I'm mad. I'm sick of all racist bullshit. Okay.
I watched us beg for $15 an hour minimum wage. I watched us beg for police accountability. I watched us beg for the police to stop killing us brothers and sisters. I watched us beg for today. We demand that you make it so that my son is not standing here with this microphone
accidentally. Because we grew up. This is what we call the new law. All you politicians that have been in these seats for the past 20 years, I hope you're shaking in your books because we're coming. We no longer going to sit here and be standing in our sad city hall begging you for anything. We are coming for your seat.
