who won the tournament?
Day 10, we're in Rockovera, we went to the castle yesterday, we got a cannon, it was
a shot off in our honor, it was quite good, people were a bit shocked about it but it
was nice, a really nice themed castle, then afterwards we went to have dinner, lovely
buffet outdoors and they had it all set up, there's a band there singing, rock band, the
whole gang was dancing, just having a great time, great time, I mean even after 10 days
they were able to still dance and give it a whirl, we just all came home slowly from
there to our dormitory here and now I think some people are finally getting the taste
of it, that this is getting close to the end, so we've still got two days of biking left
and it hit me yesterday and hit others that we're almost there, good and bad, it's kind
of sad to say it's going to be the end with some people but it's good to know that we
didn't complete it, so the wish is luck.
Hello, could you tell us your name and where you're from?
My name is Svetlana and I'm originally from Moscow.
You joined us a little bit late in this tour, when did you join us?
I joined in Tartu, what was it each day, I think it was Saturday, I know nobody knows
which day.
Day 6, 7, 8, take your joys, how did you hear about this?
So actually it started one year ago in Berlin, actually it started even earlier, so I knew
somebody from when I went to Helsinki and it was Katja actually and then when I was
in Berlin last year she came to stay at my place when she came with Cycling for Libraries
and then she invited me for like late evening afterwards party and bar stuff and I was talking
to people and met a lot and I thought it was really a great idea and I wanted to really
thought I was really trying.
You guys have been really cheerful the whole time, I've never seen a, you know, your face
has not been sour, how do you keep so happy, like a 10 day trip like this and the schedules
change and rain and difficult driving and doesn't it sometimes get a little bit grrrr?
Not really, no, no, no, and it has been too hard actually, just a little rain today, some
dirt roads here and there.
And if I'm unhappy I go in a little corner and I don't show it to anybody.
No, it just has been really nice and I'm just happy to be in the open and meet a lot of
different people, I just enjoy it so much, no time to be unhappy now.
Hi, I'm Rasmus Fangen-Westegor from Copenhagen Libraries, I work at Timbjerg Brands Library.
I'm a bike of the day or maybe it should be a library of the day because this is a fully
equipped library that I'm riding and we just put it inside a bike.
On top we have some, this is personal stuff like raincoats and extra clothes, on top actually
we have a solar panel that will charge our battery and laten regulator that we have inside
here, charges this system and this provides charging opportunities for cell phones, iPads
and we also run a music system out of it.
We also have a small book collection, I think we've got like about 15 books here now, it's
mostly guide books and fun books, this is Finland and what we do is we run a simple
library system of the iPad that we have taken from the library, we just take photos basically.
I also have down here, I have like quite a repair kit, stand up repair kit for bicycles
and extra tubes and I also carry quite a lot of PR material for library services in Copenhagen
and cycling in Copenhagen, I have a very popular item here, this is a library sponsored sunscreen
which is very good for cycling for libraries.
