I always think if someone does something really well, you find that song or art is so much
more endearing, so whatever we do, we will try and do it the best we can, we will just
run whatever comes natural.
It's all about convincing the audience and if you're doing something easier, it's a lot
more believable.
So I think that's what it is about the group maybe, is we're believable and therefore people
find us endearing.
With rock and roll music, or the music that we create, it's very foot to the floor kind
of, it's always got that rhythm, there's a pulsating rhythm in every song that we do.
I think once you've got that real kind of drum and bass bond, as you say, it's the driving
force.
I think we all share the same goal, so that always helps, people pull their weight in
different ways.
We've gone through a lot of experiences together, I think that's the main thing, we've always
stood by each other and we've got the decent singing friendship to talk to each other about
it, so I think that's always good.
The singing is obviously from my dad and the passion of performance from my dad and the
sincerity of it, but the moving and the performance and the dancing is definitely from my mum.
I was brought up in a pub and we always had the jukebox going, so I've always had from
an early age when I'd go to sleep, they sent me to bed with the jukeboxes to be blaring.
My cousin was in the band with a guy called Tim, he was like his phenomenal guitar player,
I was like wow, that's what I want to be like.
My dad is a Christian gospel singer somewhere, he starts learning guitar about 13 or 14 and
my dad just had guitars around the house, just sort of picked it up here and there.
I want to take love and pain, want to feel bright and shame, I don't want to take my time, don't
want to waste one life, I want to live better days, never look back and say, could have been
me.
It makes it sound more heartfelt I think and it went with the lyric more, you don't want
to lose anything.
You know I know what it's like when you wake up on that Monday morning and you have this
dream of trying to have a band that's successful and the last thing you want to do is waste
your time.
