The fourth day of the London 2017 World Parathletics Championships brought Indian fans some much
needed cheer as Amit Kumar Saroha bagged a silver medal in the men's club throw F51 event.
Saroha's throw of 30.25 meters was a new Asian record and only 1.74 meters behind Serbian
Zeliko Dimitri which is world record throw of 31.99 meters.
In the same event, India's Dharambir finished 10th with a best throw of 22.34 meters.
In the men's triple jump T-47 final, Amit Kumar leapt a height of 13.38 meters on his second attempt.
The jump was the athlete's own personal best but on the day it was only good enough for a fifth place finish.
Yes, I liked competing here because the weather here was quite suitable and I did my personal best.
But the same thing is that I couldn't give the medal to India so I will go to sleep.
The rest of the atmosphere and the public city I liked it very much.
In the women's 100 meter T-44 final, Britain's Sophie Kamlesh ran a superb race to beat her
Dutch rival Marlo van Rijn with a time of 12.92 seconds.
The young athlete was both relieved and exhilarated after clocking a world record in her heat.
It was amazing. I was a bit worried when they called the full start even though I knew it wasn't me because my start was so slow.
So I just hoped it wasn't anyone next to me because that always can't see that well so it's nice to have people on both sides.
So I was glad to see that it wasn't anyone near me and I could just run my races normally.
Today I guess just wasn't really my day. I mean I had lots of fun. I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed it a bit longer than I should have but no, it's always a pleasure being in the stadium
and this time it was a silver and hopefully next time we'll be better again.
And finally the men's 200 meter T-36 final saw a new world record being created as Australia's James Turner took gold with a run of 24.09 seconds.
So what does day 5 have in store for Indian fans?
Indra Ranveer and Sandeep Kumar will both be seen in action in the men's Javelin F-44 event. With any luck, India will finish the event with two medals.
