They don't usually let me near them. I come from the chainsaw school.
We're doing row one. We could leapfrog each other going down a row. That might work.
This is a quince actually. You take out the lower stuff because you don't want to overload the branch.
You don't want too much fruit, although the quince isn't that big, is it? No, but you do get an awful lot of fruit on them.
He said don't want too much fruit because it ties the tree out.
You're not going to kill them, that's the thing. All I'm doing is taking off and stopping them growing too high.
We're part of the team that set it up basically. There is only us as a team of six of whom there are four of us here at the moment.
Plus extra villages, the rest are volunteers basically who know about pruning.
Really, it's an ongoing project. It's all very well-putting it all together, but then of course it has to be maintained.
This is the tricky thing, getting people to help. This is wonderful. Apart from four of us, everybody else has come.
Nothing to do with the orchard, just help them basically.
We have the other side of the village, so this will wander up the walks. When they have the orchard tea, we put up a marquee and we have a band and everybody comes.
The village hall could be helped with catering and stuff, so it's quite good.
Take this out.
This is the first time we've been down here, so yes, I'd like to get more involved.
Hopefully come the spring, there will be opportunities.
Thank you.
