Our thermal water comes from 180 year old rainwater that's actually seeped down through
the ground in the Hamden Mountains.
It seeps down through fractures and fishes in the rock and heats down underground where
it's thermally heated.
We then have two bores and we've drilled those bores and we pump the water back up to the
surface for our thermal poles.
We have a range of thermal poles here, some of which use completely natural water, some
of which use treated water.
So for example we have our sulfur poles which are our hottest poles and they use completely
natural water.
It's not treated, it is filtered but it's not treated.
Well certainly the poles are beneficial for wellness in terms of relaxing muscle ache
and stiffness in the joints and there's also a body of evidence that says that thermal
poles around the world can be beneficial in terms of treating soft tissue injuries and
rheumatic condition.
Well there's a range of things that people can do here at Hamden Springs thermal poles
in Spire and they really break down into two areas, firstly it's about relaxation.
So we've got a number of thermal poles where couples and families can relax, just enjoy
the thermal water and relax those muscles and stiff joints they might have after a day's
mountain biking around the village.
But we also have the fun side of Hamden Springs thermal poles in Spire and that's where the
kids can play on the hydro slides, we've got a lap pool with a lazy river, we've got a
splash pool with a number of different activities.
So there's a real fun side to Hamden Springs thermal poles in Spire.
And also there's the spa, so there's a day spa that we've got, we've got a number of
different treatments from manicures and pedicures up to full body massages and it's a really
relaxing place for people to go, for couples to go to get away from the world and just
relax and be pampered.
