The first time I ever sat in a kayak was actually in a whitewater kayak on a canali which is
a river in Nepal and I was five at the time and this thing absolutely dwarfed me.
It was huge.
I wanted to be like the Nepali River Guides.
Tim is an adventurer with an affinity to lost rivers and oceans.
I'm fascinated by whitewater and water in general, it's just such a dynamic and changeable
medium and I love the whitewater kayaking aspect of it, just purely for the achievement
when you got down something and you think, wow I did that today, what's it worth, wow.
Biggest achievement was getting chosen by the British University's kayaking expedition
in 2009 which took us to Vietnam looking for first descents and whitewater and big waterfalls
that nobody had ever done before.
Go and explore and go and try and put your name on the map really and do a bit of unchartered
expeditioning.
We came across a secluded bay overlooked by Stackpoly.
With its Toridonian sandstone forming the red sand in the Loch, just as mystical as
the dark blue water.
They say that the Norwegian gods practiced mountain building here before they went to
Norway.
It's a little mountain with a real big personality.
And it's flat calm and you get like a mirror, it's just amazing.
I feel everything just kind of fades away and you're just kind of left in the moment.
Nothing really matters except for the next road.
This is the problem, once you start this game, there is no finish to it, it's ongoing.
So you always want to say, what's next, what can I do, what can I change, how can I get
better, how can I push myself harder.
