On Saturday, October 7th was the Ithaca Fall Fun Fest, a day-long event that is for the
whole family.
Earlier in the day, there was a parade for everyone to enjoy, an art show later on, plenty
of food and drink tents, and even a cornhole tournament later in the afternoon.
But to start the day off as one of the best events, the AgriFit Challenge.
The AgriFit Challenge is an obstacle course that incorporates many different real-life
agricultural elements into its obstacles.
Some obstacles are bailout, where competitors have to climb over big round veils of hay,
a mud crawl, what they call the back scratcher, where opponents have to crawl through mud
under barbed wire, a tractor pull where they have to lift and flip tractor tires all the
way across a plane, traction torture where they have to climb up a ladder and go through
a loaded semi coming out the other side, ladder up where they have to climb over large pod
boxes trying to get over as fast as they can, pack mule where they have to carry large bags
of seeds across the plane, and pipe dream where they have to crawl through a drainage
tube to get to the other side.
These events and many more come together to make an amazing day full of fun and covered
in mud.
Competitors came back after last year's 2016 course that was very challenging, and the
Fall Fun Fest tried to make sure that this year's course was even better trying to challenge
its competitors for a great day full of fun.
