Part of my work and leadership training has led me or allowed me to make several trips
recently to the small Mongolian city of Zamingud.
It's in the middle of the Gobi Desert and really the best way to get there is by train.
Many many people pass through Zamingud every day, thousands really, but very few actually
stop at the city.
My friend Zolo says Zamingud is like a forgotten city and some Mongolians even say that it's
cursed.
It's full of ramshackle buildings and rundown streets and lots and lots of sand.
The gospel always brings hope and I see hope rising in Zamingud in a very very unexpected
place.
There's a little alliance church here it's planted was planted by Peter Yem and this
little church is doing the stuff and even though the church consists mostly of women
and children they're bringing light and love and hope to Zamingud in some really incredible
ways.
They've started an amazing daycare for disabled children, a children's church, they have two
cell groups in town and they've begun to work on a home for the elderly.
These women want the gospel of Jesus to transform their community and their nation.
Right now there's an immediate need for a building which would serve as a community
center, a home for the daycare for the children and elderly, a location for leadership training
and discipleship and a base for their ambitious ministry plans.
We would like to ask you, your church, if you would join them in serving the king, if
you would pray for the church in Zamingud, if you would pray that God would raise up
godly men who will shepherd this church like servants and lead with grace and strength
and humility.
We'd like to ask if you would consider supporting the church in Zamingud with your generous
gifts that would enable them to raise the needed funds for a ministry center that will
serve as an oasis in the Gobi Desert.
Please remember this forgotten city.
