My name is José Russo, and I worked here at the Olivencia Pharmacy since I was 13 years old.
On March 50, I found out that they needed a commander, someone who would distribute the medicines to the students.
So I came, they took me, and here I am.
In those years, things were very different.
The medicines were all made in the pharmacy.
Here they were all the products that were needed.
The doctors presented the formula, and with that the medicine was prepared in different ways.
They were prepared in drops, in the caraves, they were made in pildoritas, and they were prepared in the stoves.
I served, and seeing how the preparations were made, I ended up learning.
So after a while, they took another commander, and I began to serve the public, and to prepare the medicine.
They took the formula, and they took the medicine.
Now they were all prepared, and that makes the work more peaceful.
The doctors were preparing the medicines.
One of the things I learned when I went to Olivencia was that a pharmacy is much more than a business.
Before a pharmacy, it was a meeting place with the family.
They came to look for their magistral formula, and that was a reason to talk about all the topics,
the sub-problems, and establish a more familiar relationship.
We want to keep that tradition alive, that's why we have preserved the pieces and furniture.
Since 1879 until now, it has been part of the history of this pharmacy.
It is as if each of these objects had its own message inside that they want to tell us the best of the others.
Thank you for watching.
