Hi, welcome to Radical at Allsport International, 2010. Here we are on our gleaming white stand.
We've got five cars here. First car you see, this is arguably one of the best known radicals.
This is the actual car that gained the Latt record at the Nürburgring. This is an SR8
model M, LN standing for Le Mans. This has a 2.8-litre engine, which we make ourselves
in-house with PowerTech, our engine company. This car, in August, broke the Latt record
that we already had. The record stood at 6 minutes 56, and we knocked that down to 6
minutes 48 in the hands of Michael Burgess, and so we are the outright production sports
car Latt record holders around the ring. Also on the stand we have PR6. This is a quave
engineering sponsored car. Quave manufacture all our drive systems for us in this car,
which is a chain driven car. They make the reversing differential for us. This is a
clever device that allows the engine to drive the car in reverse as well as forward. The
PR6 is eligible for our Radical Clubman Cup, which we've now called the Quave Radical Clubman
Cup. This is an eight round series that run in the UK for just motorcycle powered radicals.
I think there's about 20 races held at top UK circuits. They're normally one day events
with two sprints in the afternoon, and I think at a couple of events we've got double headers
with four races. This car has a 1340cc Suzuki engine. It's a very, very quick car. And then
over here, this is our SR3. This is our most popular car. We've manufactured over 500
of them today. The SR3 is eligible for our Radical UK Cup and also our Europe wide Radical
European Masters, which this year is sponsored by Shell Racing Solutions. They're supplying
all fuel and the lubricants for our series and providing all the competitors with merchandise
and jackets and that sort of thing. This car can be raced in any of those championships,
including the Clubman's Cup going over here. This is our low cost model. It's our SR4. We've
named this one the SR4 CZ, CZ after Czechoslovakia, because our Czechoslovakian distributor is
selling these into Eastern Glock countries. We are preparing a Radical Central and Eastern
European Championship on SR4 models. Our races will be in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia
and Czech Republic. And maybe also the countries like Croatia and Slovenia will take part.
It's a great idea. It's another step for Radical taking what we're good at in the UK and Europe
and taking it to other parts of the world. A lot of people in Eastern countries are right
now starting to spend in free time weekends on circuits with their cars like Ferraris,
Aston Martin's, BMWs, M3, etc., etc. And they finally found out how expensive it is to make a
motorsport on these large, big, heavy cars. They also see that the Radicals are faster, cheaper
and it's a lot of fun because you are sitting in an open car and it's always different. It's like
Formula racing, but for much better money. Also exciting for us for this year, we've started a
hill climb series in Italy and this is a very, very popular car for that. Fitted with a 1500cc
engine. This is very competitive on the hills and we now have about 25 cars running in that series
run by our distributor in southern Italy. So we're very pleased about that. So this is our range
of petrol engine cars ranging from the Superbike Power engine, which we were the first to develop
that over to our V8, which we manufacture ourselves again, a Radical first. And of course over to
our Electrical Power car. We've always prided ourselves on being new and being the first. This
I think is a good example of that. Who knows, this may be the future of British motorsport and if
it is, we want to be there leading the way. A car that holds the lap record around the Nürburgring
is 400bhp and that's exactly what this puts out. So this is likely to be exciting.
It may not sound loud, but it's going to be exciting.
