Mazarredia: Bolívar 1887; Günther 1939; Otte 1997
Type species: Mazarredia (Mazarredia) gemella Bolívar, 1887, designated by Rehn (1904)
Composition and distribution. Including the herein presented taxonomic acts, the genus consists of three subgenera with 49 species altogether. The genus is widely distributed in South and South East Asia.
Notes. The complete literature regarding this genus is not listed as it is extensive; only the examined material is listed. The genus consists of many species, most of which were described in the last two decades without making the types available on the OSF website (Cigliano et al. 2022). At the very least, the genus should be reviewed to elucidate the relationship between its species. Historically (Günther 1939), the genus has been populated by species belonging to other genera. This could still be a problem, which should be resolved by a detailed examination of the species, especially those described recently.
