Distribution in Iran. Fars (Hoberlandt 1955; Safavi 1959; Modarres Awal 1997 b), Hormozgan, Kerman (Safavi 1959; Modarres Awal 1997 b), Kuhgiloyeh & Boyerahmad (Hoberlandt 1955; Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997 b), Sistan & Baluchestan (Hoberlandt 1955, Safavi 1959; Farahbakhsh 1961; Kiritshenko 1966; Modarres Awal 1997 b), Southern Iran (no locality cited) (Oshanin 1906, 1912).
General distribution. According to Derjanschi & Péricart (2005) and Rider (2006) this species only lives in tropical Africa, Algeria, Libya, Egypt. Its presence in Iran seems highly doubtful; the published records most likely should be referred to M. lindbergi or M. pallidissima; this requires further study.
Host plants. In rice field (Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997 b).
