Remarks: The majority (if not all) of the above records are based on Christiansen & Bellinger’s remark (1980, p. 451) that “extensive comparison of Nearctic specimens of O. oreadis (including the types), with specimens in Dr. Yosii’s collection identified as O. flavescens, show these species to be inseparable, in spite of minor differences from the descriptions by Yosii”. In fact, O. oreadis appears to be a senior synonym of Leeonychiurus mai (Wray) (Bernard 2015). Species of the modern genus Allonychiurus do exist in the Nearctic but the presence of true A. flavescens there probably needs further confirmation.
