This table represents the results from the bat fly survival experiment.
This experiment was performed twice, once in 2010 and once in 2012. In 2012 flies were checked for survival twice a day, whereas in 2010 they were only checked once, between 12:30 and 13:00.
All bat flies were identified as Nycteribia kolenatii and were collected from Myotis daubentonii at the Chamberonne river at the University of Lausanne campus.

Each line in the table represents one bat fly.

Column definitions:

start Start date and time of the experiment: when the bat flies were removed from their host.
death_visual	Moment when the bat fly was considered to be no longer alive.
sex Sex of the bat fly; M=male, F=female.
malaria Malaria PCR detection result of the bat fly. P=positive, N=negative for malaria; NA= ambiguous results.
bat_blood	Bat PCR detection result of the bat fly. P=positive, N=negative for bat DNA; NA= ambiguous results.
host_inf	Infection status of the host of which the bat fly was collected, as tested by the same malaria PCR protocol as that of the bat fly. P=positive, N=negative for malaria; NA= ambiguous results.
