\f0\b\fs24 \cf0 ReadMe details for phenotypic data associated with Weber et al Evolution\

\b0 \
Weber et al relies on analysis of partial genomic sequence data (ddRADseq), which we converted into files of SNP genotypes. The analysis also relies on some morphological data concerning the collected fish, as well as their geographical coordinates. These data are provided in several distinct files.\
\
\

\b Morphological data
\b0 is saved in three comma-separated text files (.csv), one file per lake-stream pair. The files are named:\
	Metadata_Comida.csv\
	Metadata_Farewell.csv\
	Metadata_Roberts.csv\
\
Each .csv file contains the following columns, with individual fish as rows.\
\
BarPool: a unique barcode used to identify sequenced fragments from a given sample in ddRADseq analysis.\
\
roworder: a sorted sequence of numbers to maintain alignment of the metadata with other files\
\
FishID: an arbitrary identifier for internal recordkeeping\
\
X: not used\
\
Barcode: the same barcode for ddRADseq used in BarPool column\
\
X1: not used\
\
Pool: a numerical list of sequence library numbers indicating which library a given sample was pooled into\
\
X2: not used\
\
X3: not used\
\
fish_id: a individual identifier for internal record keeping\
\
collection_id: a unique identifier for a given collection event (location / year / visit# combination)\
\
pair: the name of the lake-stream pair\
\
site: the name of the population\
\
habitat : Lake or Stream\
\
distance: distance downstream from the lake; lake sites set to zero or negative values (distance from the stream)\
\
date: the date the specimen was measured\
\
bag_name: an identifier for internal record-keeping to match a formalin-preserved fish carcass to a tube with tissue for DNA extraction\
\
mass: Mass of the specimen in grams\
\
Mass_adj: not used\
\
sl: Standard length (mm)\
\
bd: Body depth (mm)\
\
gw: Gape width (mm)\
\
pnr: number of armor plates on the right side\
\
pnl: number of armor plates on the left side\
\
pw: width (mm) at the pre-operculum\
\
grn: gill raker number\
\
grl: gill raker length (ocular micrometer units; size-corrected later so units are lost anyway)\
\
sex: Male (M) or Female (F) based on visual inspection of gonads during dissection\
