Airborne laser scanning (ALS) data of 3D woody habitat heterogeneity of urban home gardens, and woody habitat amount at four landscape spatial scales (50, 100, 250, 500 m). 

Columns: 

Id = Garden Id.

sdvegH_30 = standard deviation of vegetation return heights at 30 m radius circles with the gardens centred.

cov1_50 = proportion of woody vegetation cover in the entire ALS point cloud in a 50-m radius circle around each garden.

cov1_100 = proportion of woody vegetation cover in the entire ALS point cloud in a 100-m radius circle around each garden.

cov1_250 = proportion of woody vegetation cover in the entire ALS point cloud in a 250-m radius circle around each garden.

cov1_500 = proportion of woody vegetation cover in the entire ALS point cloud in a 500-m radius circle around each garden.

The presence or absence of predator attack marks on the caterpillar models and experimental treatment data.

Columns:

Id = Garden Id.

Tree_ID = Id of artificial shrub.

Veg_Dist = Standardized location of the artificial shrub: we placed one shrub at each of three distance categories (shrub distance class): within walking (0-0.1 m), hopping (0.1 - 0.7 m), and flying distance (> 0.7 m) from the nearest birds perch on a woody vegetation element.

Date_Out = Date of caterpillar exposure.

Height = Height class of caterpillar exposure on the artificial shrub: 0.5 m, 1 m, and 1.5 m above the ground and at ground level (0).

Branch_ID = Id of each horizontal bamboo rod on each artificial shrub, resp. at the ground level below each shrub.   

Predation = Binary variable of the predation event (0/1).

Predation_Species = Predator group that is responsible for the predation event.

Bird_predation = Binary variable of a bird predation event (0/1).

Arthropod_predation = Binary variable of an arthropod predation event (0/1).

Mammal_predation = Binary variable of a mammal predation event (0/1).

Unknown_predation = Binary variable of a predation event of an unknown predator (0/1).

Utilize = Binary variable of whether a caterpillar can be used in the analysis or not (e.g. due to vandalism or accidental removal by humans).
