West Humboldt Park Development Council

West Humboldt Park Development Council’s Mission is to work collaboratively to develop, implement and sustain processes that improve the quality of life for people, families and businesses in the West Humboldt Park community. To promote and improve the quality of life for the people and businesses in our community, WHPDC will take a leadership role to: promote safety and advocate for residents , families, and neighborhood support programs; advocate for community growth and sustainability; and encourage business attraction, development, retention and growth.

Diabetes Link

Diabetes Link was created by Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and community partners for adult patients with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes who need to lose weigh. It is a free telephone service that helps patients find and use community resources, like exercise classes, gyms and healthy cooking classes. We are currently working with clinics and patients in the Humboldt Park, Rogers Park and Evanston communities in Chicago.

GeoDa Lab

The GeoDa Center for Geospatial Analysis and Computation develops state-of-the-art methods for geospatial analysis, geovisualization, geosimulation, and spatial process modeling, implements them through open source software tools, applies them to policy-relevant research in the social and environmental sciences, and disseminates them through training and support to a growing worldwide community.

CHITREC

The Chicago Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (CHITREC) is a collaboration between Northwestern University, the Alliance of Chicago Community Health Services and more than 40 local and national partners focused on HIT adoption and use within the city of Chicago.

Marynia is a Doctoral Researcher at the GeoDa Lab at ASU. She studies health geography, causal inference, and how civic technology can support dynamic decision-making for better policy. She spends her free time hiking the mountains of Arizona and listening to old records.

Gentry is an urban planning senior at Arizona State University. She is passionate about GIS, sustainable cities, and using data to make good policy. She will be graduating in 2016.

Nadia is a recent graduate of Dev Bootcamp. She is interested in using technology to solve real world challenges, especially in low resource settings. In her spare time she likes to backpack around the world and engage in weird conversations with new people.
