A 24-year-old woman was referred from primary care due to bilateral vision loss of 6 weeks duration.
No family history of interest.
The personal history included treatment with Topamax 150 mg daily for 2 months due to epilepsy refractory to conventional therapy.
The maximum VA in the right eye was 0.6 and 0.7 in the left eye (LE).
The visual field shows a bilateral central scotoma and in the eye fundus there is a bilateral maculopathy with major pigmentary changes in the left eye.
The temporal relationship Topamax intake and vision loss was removed, but after one year of follow-up the patient has not recovered vision although the process remains stable.
