A 77-year-old male with a history of chronic hepatitis C virus and hiatal hernia, with a 6-month history of progressive esophageal dysphagia associated with heartburn and occasional episodes of food resurgence.
The EGD identified an anterior saccular formation of wide mouth 3 cm in diameter, located in the distal 10 cm of the esophagus and a hiatal hernia by sliding.
Endoscopy confirmed the presence of a diverticulum with food content within 30 cm of the dental arch.
