A nine-year-old male school student from the province of Buenos Aires, with no history of farmed or farmed animals.
The patient was referred for suspicion of supratentorial cystic tumor.
She had a history of vomiting and headache for four months.
Brain MRI was performed and revealed a cystic lesion at the supratentorial right periventricular level that displaced the midline.
Abdominal ultrasound and chest X-ray were normal.
HAI serology for hydatidosis was negative.
Blood count showed no significant change.
She received pre- and postoperative treatment with albendazole.
The cyst was removed without complications.
The histological study described a cystic structure with a wall with an eosinophilic cell layer (cuticulum), abundant germinative.
