A 58-year-old woman presented with a 4-year history of leukemia as the underlying disease and required transfusions of derivatives.
After presenting a constitutional syndrome in recent months, a mass in the right costal wall of 4 cm in diameter was detected, which was diagnosed as a mucus.
1.
Surgical intervention was performed to resect the lesion 3 cm away.
Since it is located in the proximity of the anterior axillary line, reconstruction is performed with a latissimus dorsi muscle flap with deepidermized skin island of 8 per 12 cm. The edges of the flap are thus declared to give continuity costal suture points.
The patient was discharged one week later without respiratory problems or paradoxical breathing.
There were no recurrences or complications after 24 months of postoperative follow-up.
