A 45-year-old male, with type I diabetes for 14 years, diagnosed with severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy at the last check-up.
He came to his regular review showing a severe rubeosis iris in the left eye.
Photographs of the anterior segment were taken and an OCT was performed showing an iris hypersignal on the external surface of the iris corresponding to the area of the neovessels.
In this case, OCT shows that the configuration of the sclerocorneal angle is open.
Subsequently, the patient is treated with panphotocoagulation.
