A 63-year-old male with a self-locating catheter and one month of evolution using the PD technique.
During a dressing change at the exit site, the patient accidentally clipped the catheter about 5 cm above the skin line.
After clamping the catheter, the procedure described above was performed in the Material and Methods section.
Prophylactic antibiotic was administered.
PD was resumed normally after 24 hours and no episodes of peritonitis were recorded after nine months of follow-up.
