A 65-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with a diagnosis of right renal tumor.
After an episode of right flank pain, he came to the bedside doctor who began the study.
Abdominal ultrasound showed a solid tumor in the upper pole of the right kidney.
The diagnosis was confirmed by abdominal CT scan which reported the presence of a 5 cm diameter tumor in the upper pole of the right kidney and heterogeneous contrast uptake.
With the orientation of renal tumor stage T1b the patient was informed of the need to undergo radical nephrectomy.
Under the approval of the Ethics Committee of our hospital, the patient was informed of the possibility of undergoing a new surgical technique: transvaginal nephrectomy in the context of the NOTES program of our department.
