A 40-year-old woman, married, with no children.
No relevant history.
Skin rash began in mildly pruritic extremities.
The next day she presented pain and functional impotence of hands and wrists, slight morning stiffness, so she consulted.
Physical examination revealed few erythematous lesions in forearms, no palpable, confluent lesions.
Cardiopulmonary and abdominal examination was normal, and joint examination revealed synovitis of the wrists, metaphalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joints of both hands.
Laboratory: normal blood count, preserved liver and kidney function.
Serology was requested for Parvovirus B19, which was IgM positive.
He received symptomatic treatment with paracetamol with complete resolution at 48 hours.
After 1 month of follow-up, the patient remained asymptomatic.
