A 25-year-old male, with no personal history of interest, who underwent ultrasound examination due to left testicular pain of 4 months duration. Physical examination revealed the presence of a varicose vein.
Ultrasound was performed with gray scale and color Doppler ultrasonography with a linear transducer with a frequency of 10 MHz.
The test is performed with the patient in the supine position.
The right test is normal on ultrasound.
A left extratesticular varicocele is observed in a testicle of normal size, as well as tubular hypoechoic structures inside with venous flow that increases during the Valsalva maneuver correspond to a varicocele ultrasound.
