A 74-year-old hypertensive patient with ischemic heart disease presented to the emergency department with melena for several days.
Endoscopy revealed a submucosal papillary tumor close to the ulcerated area on its surface, which was visualized well with the duodenum-couple.
Duodenal endoscopy revealed a submucosal lesion in the second portion of the duodenum, with areas of necrosis within it, depending on the muscularis propria with intact serosa.
Emergency surgery was performed with excision of the duodenal tumor.
The pathology reported low-risk GIST tumor positive for C-Kit.
