The family reported that the pet was an aquatic turtle whose aquarium was moistened in the dishes.
There were no other family members affected.
On admission, he had a blood count of 11,900 leukocytes/mm3; 41.6% neutrophils, ESR 32 mm/h and CRP 50.4 mg/L. Abdominal ultrasound was normal.
Fecal leukocytes were positive and hemocultive, negative, Salmonella group C1 developed in the coprocultive.
The strain was sent to the ISP according to current ministerial regulations.
