A 75-year-old male with a history of hyperuricemia treated with allopurinol was admitted for transurethral resection of the prostate.
The immediate postoperative period was uneventful with treatment with Pantoprazole, Ciprofloxacin, Paracetamol, Enantyum and Allopurinol.
On the fourth day after surgery, the patient developed dizziness, tremor with myoclonic component and trunk, and malaise, without any laboratory abnormalities.
In this situation, Rivotril is prescribed and treatment with Ciprofloxacin is stopped, the myoclonic symptoms disappeared and the patient's condition improved, so hospital discharge was decided.
