♂ lectotype, ♀ paralectotype, herein designated (ICZN 74.7.3), MNRJ 5057 (examined), from BRAZIL, Espírito Santo, Santa Teresa.

Rationale of the new generic assignment

We recognise this species as a member of Flirtea based on the large size, non-filiform legs, outline of dorsal scutum of beta type with narrow carapace in both sexes, size and orientation of spines in area III and a leuconoid blot pattern as a hollowed version of that in F. valida ( Roewer, 1928).
