Material examined. Stn. SHO — 07.ii. 2011, Ant.06/ 2011 ( 6 m): numerous fertile stems, up to 2.5 cm high (MHNG-INVE- 79775); 19.ii. 2011, Ant.01/ 2011 ( 6 m): a fragmentary colony composed of numerous stems, up to 1.5 cm high, a single broken gonotheca. Stn. ARD — 15.ii. 2010, Ant. 12 / 2010 ( 10–15 m): numerous sterile stems, up to 3 cm high, on seaweed.
Remarks. A redescription and a lengthy synonymy are given in Peña Cantero et al. ( 2002). The sterile sample Ant. 12 / 2010 ( Fig. 2 Y) was compared to the fertile material Ant.06/ 2011 ( Fig. 2 X, Z) and proved morphologically identical.
Geographical distribution. Circum-Antarctic ( Peña Cantero et al. 2002).
