Notes.

The type species of Chamaemyces, C. fracidus, was recently transferred to Lepiota by Li et al. (2025 a), but its infrageneric placement remained unresolved. Comprehensive phylogenetic analyses with expanded sampling demonstrate that this species is robustly nested within L. sect. Cristatae. This finding provides the first sectional placement of this species and supports the merger of Chamaemyces (along with its synonyms Lepiotella and L. subg. Lepiotella) into Lepiota as established by Li et al. (2025 a).
