Angola • 3 ♀♀, nest; Bie, Kuemba; 12.15194 ° S, 18.15319 ° E; 27 Oct. 2024; obs. Robert Taylor; (Taylor 2024).
New record for Angola.
This species was initially reported from Zambia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and SW Tanzania, with a new record from Angola. Two nests were observed, which is an example of the same-species nest clustering that is common in some Malagasy species (Polasek et al. in press). The larger nest showed a disrupted nesting pattern, in which the first few cells were built but only the distal ones were used to rear larvae, and these first few were never completed (or were maybe later on reused for nesting material). Both observed nests were located on the same green twig, in an apparently moderately dense woodland region (Taylor 2024).
