Data Availability Statement
Identification of Time-Inconsistent Models: The Case of Insecticide Treated Nets

Data Availability Statement

Dataset Overview

The data used in this study were collected during field work for the evaluation of a program of insecticide treated bed nets (ITNs) delivered for free or sold at market prices in Orissa, India. The complete data collection methodology is described in Tarozzi et al. (2014).

Data Sources and Files

All data files are included in the replication package and are publicly available under an open license.

Detailed Data Descriptions

  • ITN Field Experiment Data

The data were collected as part of a randomized controlled trial in rural Orissa, India. The study evaluated the effectiveness of different distribution mechanisms for insecticide treated nets.

    • Format: Stata (.dta)
    • Unique identifiers: id_v (village ID) and id_hhno (household ID), with individual-level data additionally identified by memid (individual ID within household)
    • Time periods: Baseline (t=0), ITN sales (t=1), re-treatment periods (t=2, t=3), and follow-up (t=4)
    • Privacy protection: All personal identifiers including individual and village names have been removed. All identifiers are anonymous.
  • Data Dictionary

All Stata files (.dta) are self-describing with variable labels and value labels included in the files. No separate codebook is required.
