The hamlet of Pontignano is situated in the countryside about 10km north of the beautiful medieval city of Siena. It is an ideal base from which to explore Tuscany. Florence is some 45 minutes away by car. The climate in May is normally warm but rain is possible. Travel Florence airport is about 60 km from Pontignano with good connections by road. After a further 4 km of winding road take another right turn towards Pontignano and you will arrive at the Certosa after 2km. See Map. No Smoking! It is illegal in Italy to smoke inside any building open to the public. If you need to smoke, please do so out of doors. Call for PapersPapers are invited on any of the topics set out at CMNS.
