Location

13-15 May 2005: 6th International Workshop on Anomalies in Hydrogen / Deuterium Loaded Metals will be held near Siena at the Certosa di Pontignano in Tuscany, central Italy. This is a 14th century cloistered monastery now owned by the University of Siena and converted exclusively for conference use.  The Certosa's website at http://www.unisi.it/servizi/certosa/ which includes photographs and directions.  It can accommodate about 90 visitors.   There is ample parking space.

Additional accomodation may be available at the Hotel Casa Lucia (Tel 0577-322510) about 3km from the Certosa.

The hamlet of Pontignano is situated in the countryside about 10km north of the beautiful medieval city of Siena.   It is an ideal base from which to explore Tuscany.  Florence is some 45 minutes away by car.  The climate in May is normally warm but rain is possible.

Travel

Florence airport is about 60 km from Pontignano with good connections by road.  Other possible airports are at Rome and Pisa.   The conference hopes to arrange a free shuttle service for those arriving by coach or train.

Arriving by car, exit the Siena bypass dual carriageway at "Siena Nord" and turn left at the first "stop" away from Siena towards Castella in Chianti / Greve in Chianti (SR 222).   Drive north for 1.5 km and take right turn towards Vagliagi / Corsignano / Pontignano.   After a further 4 km of winding road take another right turn towards Pontignano and you will arrive at the Certosa after 2km.  See Map.

No Smoking!

It is illegal in Italy to smoke inside any building open to the public.  If you need to smoke, please do so out of doors.

Call for Papers

Papers are invited on any of the topics set out at CMNS.  Oral papers in English should be supported by slides in Power Point format or transparencies for overhead projection.   Alternatively or in addition, written poster papers may be displayed at the workshop.

Oral papers will normally last 35 minutes (including 5 minutes for questions)  but other durations are possible by arrangement.

Will all authors kindly submit either an abstract or a draft of the full paper as soon as possible.

Publication

As usual presentations and eventual papers will be published on the ISCMNS web-site.    It is expected that initial versions will be distributed at the workshop itself on CD-ROM or DVD or USB Memory Key.  To allow authors to revise their presentations, a period of 2 weeks will elapse before papers / presentations are published on the www.  Any such material which is not revised or withdrawn during that time may published electronically at the discretion of the organizers.  The filename of your electronic contribution should begin with your surname (e.g. SmithTritium.ppt).

Background to the Workshops

The 6th workshop continues the tradition of previous workshops held in or near the city of Asti in northern Italy.   The choice of the Certosa di Pontignano is not entirely a break with this tradition.   Many participants will remember the successful  4th Workshop on the Status of Cold Fusion in Italy also held at the Certosa in March 1995.
