DATA DESCRIPTION
We use the Cambridge Econometrics European regional database, which provides information at the regional level for 28 European countries for the 2000–2020 period. Its main source is the Eurostat REGIO database, and the information is supplemented by the AMECO database and Eurostat. The variables selected are gross domestic product (GDP), population, employed population, and unemployed population. Regional capital stock was estimated using the perpetual inventory method (PIM). The data used are a panel of 263 NUTS-2 regions in 28 EU member states for the 2000–2020 period.

METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: The dataset is compatible with Stata 18
Elaboration on Spatial Mismatch index is explained in the published paper
