Please note that coordinates of the spring catchment boxes are not published,
due to sensitivity of the drinking water provider data.

1. monthly_dataset.csv: file containing the monthly sampled data

MS_inlet_id: inlet identifier used in the Manuscript plots. character data.
DB_sample_id: original sampling identifier as stored in the lab database. character data.
DB_site: sampling site identifier as stored in the lab database. character data.
DB_einlauf_code: identifier for the sampled inlet, as stored in the lab database. character data.
sampling_method: methodology used for the sampling. character data.
collection_date: date when the sample was retrieved. date format, dd.mm.yyyy.
duration_filtering: number of days that where water was filtered (sampling duration). integer.
outflow_rate: measured groundwater outflow rate at the inlet [Liters per second]. numeric.
outflow_volume: calculated total discharge volume during the given sampling period [megaliter, ML]. numeric.
precip2weeks: local precipitation sum over 2 weeks prior to the end of each filtering period [mm, equivalent to liters per square meter]. numeric.
amphi_abund: total groundwater amphipod abundance in the given sample. numeric.
proa_abund: total groundwater isopod abundance in the given sample. numeric.
macr_abund: total abundance of remaining macroinvertebrates (groundwater amphipods and isopods excluded). numeric.

note - site is based on unique coordinates. one site can have multiple inlets.
note - precip2weeks calculated from the RhiresD dataset provided by the Federal Office
of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss (https://www.meteoschweiz.admin.ch/klima/klima-der-schweiz/raeumliche-klimaanalysen.html).
