Geographic distribution. Pacific Ocean between 30° N and 5° S (Román-Palacios et al. 2020).
Distribution in Peru. Oceanic species found off the coast of Peru (Ikawa et al. 2012, fig. 6).
Note. This species is restricted to the Pacific Ocean. Records from other oceans, Tahiti, and the United States are erroneous.
