28-year-old woman admitted for abdominal tumour and constitutional syndrome. She reported regular discomfort in the left void that increased in intensity weeks before her admission. Physical examination revealed a painful mobile tumour in the left hypochondrium. His laboratory tests showed no data of interest.
Ultrasound and abdominal CT scan showed the presence of a solid, heterogeneous tumour, approximately 8 cm in diameter, located in the tail of the pancreas with a well-defined outline, multiple cystic areas and calcifications inside.
She underwent surgery with distal splenopancreatectomy with excision of the solid tumour measuring 8 cm in diameter in close contact with the posterior aspect of the tail of the pancreas.
The pathological anatomy was reported as solid-cystic papillary epithelial solid epithelial neoplasm of the pancreas.
The postoperative evolution was favourable, and 14 years after the operation the patient is living a normal life and her check-ups show no alterations.
