A 38-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a penetrating trauma to the eye caused by a fragment of a clothes peg. The patient showed a corneal perforation with involvement of the iris and lens. Emergency surgery was carried out to remove the fragment and subsequently, corneal closure and phacoemulsification of the crystalline lens with placement of an intrasacular lens. In a subsequent review 5 months after the lesion, images of the anterior segment were taken using OCT. The OCT clearly shows the area of the traumatic iridectomy as well as the arrangement of the intraocular lens.
