T1. Antibiotic Therapy
T1.4. Therapy duration
T1.4.1. In case of complicated infection
Determine therapy duration individually, usually at least 4-6 weeks.
Oral sequential therapy can be considered at the earliest after 14 days of intravenous antibiotic therapy. The prerequisite is that all of the following points are fulfilled:

Adequate decrease of inflammation parameters
Fever-free > 48h
Source control
Exclusion of endocarditis
